Newsletters - advice from CEO of Real Estate City

Below is from Real Estate City's CEO. Every month I set aside sometime to write this newsletter. There are about 100 agents in the Real Estate City network and this newsletter is possibly the best way to keep everyone in the loop. I highly recommend that everyone starts a newsletter for their clients. Below is a guide to building a list, creating a newsletter, and sending a newsletter.
1) building a list: The great thing about the leads that you get from your personal site is they have an email address. Collect these email addresses in a text or word document put a semi-colon between each like this:
bob@yahoo.com;
jim@hotmail.com;
beth@yahoo.ca

Mainly popular agent web sites receive several requests per day, so they can build quite the subscriber list.

2) creating a newsletter: Write about real estate trends or neighborhoods or new housing projects. Possibly have survey so that clients will want to interact with you. Make the content a few short paragraphs that are very informative. The more informative you are the more likely these clients will remember you. There was a study that was conducted by email marketers (i.e. spammers). They noticed that generally it took five emails to the same person before they would make a purchase. Many of the leads the Real Estate City network gets for example are first time buyers so they might not be looking for now but may make a purchase 9 months from now. So keeping them interested in you and your services is essential to the conversion process.
Remember include the web site address, your phone#, and email

3) sending a newsletter: Send a newsletter only once a month. Any more that once a month is too much and the people will feel overwhelmed and won't read it. Any less than once a month and they will forget you. When you send the newsletter, put your email address as both the sender and receiver, then copy and paste the subscriber list into the BCC (blind carbon copy) field. This way people won't see who else is receiving the list. Even if you have only one name, do it this way because it will look bigger and will add credibility to your newsletter. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure your never reveal your subscriber list, it will cause you to receive many complaint letters and removal requests.
If someone asks to be removed from your newsletter, remove them and write a nice letter to tell them they are removed.
